Another fantastic field trip to the Coquitlam Inspiration Garden with my grandson's preschool. We learned all about worm poop, what can / can't be composted,
planting seeds and different plants. These ladies do a fabulous job
putting on child-friendly, informative workshops! I just had to make a cookie for the class to enjoy!
My Granddaughter was baptism at St Clare of Assisi Church in Coquitlam and another great excuse to get baking to honor her. She wore a christening gown that is nearly 100 years old, and the dress is still very beautiful. The little blanket she is lying on I made out of my wedding dress for my grandchildren to use on their special day.
Every year around Valentine's Day, Variety-The Children's Charity has their annual telethon to raise funds for BC sick children. This year was no exception and the telethon was held this past weekend. So once again I embarked on my Cookie Drive to raise and contribute what I could. After last year's resounding success of over 1000 cookies I was hoping I could match that total again. Once again my family and friends have come through to help support such a worthy cause. This year's total was even better than last year with closer to 1500 cookies and a grand total of $3687.50 raised for Variety. I still can't believe I baked and decorated that many cookies. Thank you again to everyone who supported and helped me again this year. I couldn't do this without your encouragement and support.
