Happy 10th Birthday!

The birthday girl loves art and wanted cookies to bring to her class on her birthday.  So I suggested some paint palettes with a paint brush on each cookie.

Mother Goose Program

Today Master M and Nana finished a sing along program called Mother Goose. We sure learned a lot of songs and had LOTS of fun.  We went every Tuesday morning for 8 weeks at The Hive in Maple Ridge.

My New Kopykake

I am so excited, my new toy has arrived.  It is a Kopykake 300XK.  Last night I used it to decorate bumble bees and it took no time at all! I didn't think it was possible for me to have any more fun decorating cookies but this machine is going to open up endless possibilities for new ideas.

Movember

As you all probably know, Movember is an annual, month long event involving the growing of mustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of prostate cancer and other male cancer and associated charities. The goal of Movember is to "change the face of men's health." By encouraging men to get involved, Movember's aim is to increase early cancer detection, diagnosis and effective treatments, and ultimately reduce the number of preventable deaths.

Although I can't grow a mustache I thought I could show my support by making some cookies for those men I know that are participating in this year's Movember.  My friend Sweet Butterfly, who is Very talented at designing and making cookie cutters, lent me her mustache cutter collection.

Happy Halloween

My Halloween Cookie Collection!

Well what a great day I had, this morning I did my volunteer job at the RCH and was able to get a snuggle from a very new baby girl!

Then off to the Terry Fox Office to say good bye to one of the staff that is leaving to go to the National Office.  Some of the staff  went and had a great lunch together. Yes we went all dressed up!

Tonight I had a cookie friend Sweet Butterfly over to help me with a special cookie project I am working on.

Lots of little trick or treaters came to the door even though it was raining.

Somos Fifth Annual Benefit Fiesta

I attended The 5th Annual Benefit Fiesta at  Heritage Hall in Vancouver.  Project Somos is not only building a Children's Village but is also helping to build a better future for orphaned children of Guatemala.

To help support the effort of this wonderful cause, I baked a batch of  Project Somos logo cookies to sell at the event.  Along with the cookies, I also donated a box of flowers as one of the raffle prizes.

Dustbins

I was so inspired by my friend Clare's column in the paper talking about her son, not being able to help the garbage guys on a Monday anymore because he has started kindergarten. So I baked up a small batch of special dustbins for him to give to his garbage guy friends to thank them for being so good with him and letting him help each week for the past year or so. Not expecting any waste cookies there - pretty sure those guys work up and appetite!

Terry Fox National School Run

I volunteer at the Terry Fox Foundation so whenever there is a chance to combine Terry and cookies I'm in! Once again this year my young friends Natasha and Spencer held an extra fundraiser at their school selling "Treats For Terry" and I baked up a batch of special cookies to sell.  Last year we had a lot of leftovers so I was a little more conservative with my baking this year, but word had obviously got out and we were sold out within minutes.  Thanks to everyone who donated we were able to add over $250 to the school's fundraising for cancer research.
